Querida Amigas,

It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to join me along with 500 Ohio women to attend Momentum 2010.

This event is being coordinated by the Governor’s Office for Women’s Initiatives & Outreach and First Lady Frances Strickland. The Summit will focus on strengthening our families and communities by promoting the advancement of women through education, economics, and health. The Summit will be held on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2010 at the Riffe Center in downtown Columbus.

The goals of the Summit are to:

* Bring together women of diverse backgrounds.
* Celebrate the potential of girls and honor the accomplishments of women.
* Increase awareness of resources available to women in Ohio.
* Inform women about how to lead healthy, safe and financial stable lives.
* Advocate enhanced collaboration among women and across women’s organizations.
* Foster networking opportunities among women.
* Partner with men to accomplish our mission.
* Foster an environment that allows for women to strive for and succeed in leadership roles.

As a part of the Summit, Lorena Mora-Mowry of www.mujerlatinatoday.com and I will be hosting a Luncheon to celebrate the many successes Latinas have achieved in Ohio. We are proud to have the Honorable Judge Keila Cosme, first Latina appointed to the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeal, as a keynote speaker. Judge Cosme will share with us her inspirational journey of how she found support to reach her goals while remaining true to her Latina roots.

Registration is only $25 for early birds and $45 after Feb 04. You must be registered for the Summit in order to participate in the luncheon.
