Maria Lang, Program Facilitator de AMIS - Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies, es una mujer hispana que está educando a los jóvenes hispanos del mañana. Recientemente, Maria Lang fue galardonada con el premio Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan y tuvimos el honor de sentarnos con ella para conocer más sobre su trabajo y del impacto que su escuela está haciendo en la educación en Ohio.

Maria Lang
A native from Argentina, Maria moved to Ohio and has been educating children for twenty seven years working as a Spanish Immersion and English as a Second Language teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools. She has also served as a Program Facilitator and Coordinator at the Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies.
Maria has a title of English as a Second Language Teacher from an Argentinean university and obtained her M. ED at Xavier University. Maria has been dedicated to advancing the social, economic, and educational conditions for Latinos. Her main focus has been networking with the Latino community to provide resources to improve the lives of Latino students and their families. She received the 2009 “Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan” Award from the Ohio Commission on Latino Affairs.
